“Purely by word of mouth over the internet, this Japanese short film enjoyed huge success overseas! Finally, its global popularity has reached Japan!” (...Sound of Coal clearing throat...)

That's a lot of Japanese Tradition, not to mention the bonus features. This thing's gonna go faster than a Wii in Yodobashi, so pre-order yours now to avoid tears come March.

  1. Just to clarify, is this a collection of videos by the Rahmens, like the sushi etiquette skit? Cheers! :)

  2. Going by the information on Amazon and elsewhere on the net, amongst the actors featured are Kentaro Kobayashi and Jin Katagiri of Rahmens, and the contents read like a list of Japanese customs. Also Dogeza, Sushi and Kosai which have previously been released in separate collections are all there together on a bonus disc. So it certainly does appear to be a continuation of the same series. There is however no mention of whether or not the disc will contain any English - I for one will not be risking my arse adding fan-subs this time round if it doesn't.

  4. I'll be getting a copy from the first pressing (got in an order early) and might press for a few complementary copies into the bargain, ;-) so will keep you posted on whether it has English subs or not.

  6. Hey Coal,

Let me know when you find out, I'll totally shout it out on TV in Japan! BTW, do you have translated versions of Kosai hidden anywhere? I just saw it for the first time and would love to post about it.

  7. Just got the DVD today and best I can tell it does NOT have English subtitles for the narration. Some of the shorts do have English translations for the on screen text. Too bad. Maybe I sell it on Ebay, or learn Japanese.
